What’s Up Next for Power?

LifeSafety Power what you powerASIS 2017 is over, but LSP’s innovation of the product category continues

The landscape of security technology is changing more rapidly than one could ever have imagined. More systems and solutions are integrated in a full-solution approach, with sensors and devices tied to the internet of Things entering the fray with new data and information collected from connected points throughout the protected premises.

Downtime simply isn’t an option. Power provides the piece of the puzzle that optimizes security and access control, yields comprehensive data for proactive services and gives the end user and installer numerous efficiencies from unified, tested and certified platforms.

LifeSafety Power highlighted its FlexPower®Unified Power Systems at ASIS 2017 and technology partnerships with Mercury Security; AMAG Technology; Software House; Paxton Access; Brivo; Feenics; and others. We continue to seek out and collaborate with leading manufacturers in the development of power solution configurations that address the rapidly changing physical security market.

Our new ProWire™ Unified Power Solution was front and center at the show—featuring streamlined access control and allowing users to standardize their installation across the campus or enterprise. ProWire provides the highest level of integration between a power system and access control, in a pre-wired UL/CUL solution that is ready to install and comes in standard or networked configurations for intelligent power monitoring. Integrators and end users appreciated the fact that ProWire precision factory wiring eliminates field wiring variability and allows equipment installation standardization for uniform operation, maintenance and servicing of the security system.

Also demonstrated at the show, LifeSafety Power’s next generation FlexPower® Multi-Site Manager Enterprise now includes the ability to manage an unlimited number of power-connected systems across the enterprise and extract data and critical information for proactive site management. It gives users and installers insights into their power solutions and connected devices – so potential issues can be handled well ahead of a possible loss or outage.

LSP Power Has Critical Integrations with Leading Industry Manufacturers

In addition, we showcased the NetLink®/Software House CCURE 9000 integration with LSP’s intelligent power systems as well as Authentic Mercury Security integration which allows technology partners to integrate power system status and control into their user interfaces for peak power visibility.

Helix Armour™ also got its share of attention at the show. With both AC and DC redundancy, it offers power system resiliency for high-security access control installations where loss of continuity is not an option. LifeSafety Power continues to change the paradigm of power from static hardware to network connected solutions with predictive analysis and deep reporting that’s imperative for the most robust access control and security solutions. Record-breaking attendance brings show-goers eager to learn about networking capabilities

Time to Empower

Predicting – and gathering – data on the analytics of the health of systems solutions was the theme of the LifeSafety Power® booth at ISC West 2017 and the response was overwhelming.

The crowd at the annual security conference was predicted to be the largest ever recorded according to Reed Exhibitions. For LifeSafety Power it was an extremely successful event, and the enthusiasm and understanding of the new value proposition for power in system health, reliability and reporting from intelligent solutions was duly noted by visitors to the booth.

Proactive analytics propel the power category Mercury Security

We showcased our proactive analytic solutions and breakthroughs in connecting intelligent power management to leading software manufacturers directly through Authentic Mercury Security hardware. LSP’s predictive analytics-based technology solution is now supported through the Mercury EP controller product family. With this native integration, Mercury OEM partners now have the ability to access real-time data, including power system status into the controller for display through their specific graphical user interface, fostering further direct software integrations.

C Cure Software 9000

In addition, we announced a groundbreaking new integration with the Software House CCURE 9000 solution from Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls. Also a native software integration, LifeSafety Power’s intelligent network monitoring modules now allows CCURE 9000 users to receive and centrally manage alerts and notifications through the software, for seamless monitoring and control of Software House power distribution.

These critical integrations are core to current and future technology development as LifeSafety Power continues to provide the industry with the most flexible, predictive and proactive power systems. With real-time data and analytics on the viability of connected solutions, LifeSafety Power ensures maximum uptime and system reliability.

Other new products unveiled at ISC West included the Unified Wired™ Mercury systems – an intelligent, prewired solution that neatly combines all components for substantial installation savings and Helix Armour, a standout family of DC and now AC redundant power management systems designed to maximize operational efficiency and reduce the risk of system down time or outage.

System wiring for your favorite access controllers

LifeSafety Power® continues to support the security installation and specification community with the latest technical information to assist in providing the most robust, professionally installed power solutions.

We’ve been updating the Application Notes for our flagship FlexPower® Unified Power Solutions line, created when we launched the company in 2009.  The idea behind FlexPower was to give integrators choices, flexible specification capabilities if you will, based on their manufacturer-specific access control or other security/life safety product so they could achieve greater installation efficiencies. FlexPower lets integrators select from standard DC voltages or other, manufacturer-specific wiring methods and configurations for power enclosures.

Software House notes revised

Most recently, we revamped the Software House by Tyco access control panel application notes, including iStar Pro, iStar Ultra and iStar Ultra SE in standard and SCLASS. The SCLASS line of power is designed to accommodate Software House controllers and iStar components within the power supply enclosure, simplifying and streamlining installation and wiring management. These application notes cover the basic wiring required between the power system and the iStar series with illustrations and other critical information.

Watch for new updates regularly, including for HID VertX (VCLASS) and AMAG Technology (ACLASS).
